Sitting up late filling my new sketchbook with ideas and colours (an old habit learnt at art school: select your colour palette and then mix large quantities of each colour in jam jars, ready to go at any moment) inspired by my Field guide to the Night Sky project.

I always come home from the Festival of Quilts bone tired but exhilarated. But this year I also came back with the realisation that I’ve let sewing and creating become work. Well, my noisy, funny, messy, hungry, lovely boys are back to school the house is eerily quiet and empty and I am trying to catch up on all the emails, work and chores that I have largely ignored for the past 7 weeks. It’s going to take a while… but, it’s good to be back. P.S. We now have a woodburning stove and carpet in the lounge. […]
