The other hand
So, here’s a book that you simply must read. It may seem that I am recommending every single book I read to you, but I’m really not. I read at least one book a week (and I never even finish a book I’m not enjoying) and this is only the third I’ve told you about. […]
London
The boys had an inset day today, so we headed to a bitterly cold and grey South Bank. The top picture is actually still in colour. We finally went on the Eye (it’s only been open 13 years) and then to the Sea Life Centre. The jelly fish were mesmerising.
Sunday
I made blueberry pancakes for breakfast. We ate them with bananas and too much maple syrup. So far they’ve been the highlight of a rather unexceptional and lazy Sunday. But tonight I’m watching Anna Karenina. So the question is- will it be better than blueberry pancakes?
new look
Yesterday, Joe went to the barbers with a picture of the new hairstyle he wanted and his own money to buy hair wax with. Today, Joe played very patiently and kindly with a wooden train set for over an hour with a 3 and 5 year old. We’re growing up.

happy here
weekend
I have three new loves this weekend- it’s been a good one! 1. Tom Ford’s Cafe Rose perfume. I haven’t the words to describe a scent, but it’s beautiful. A lovely and un-expected gift from Tony (thank you duty free airport shopping!) 2. Laura Mvula. I will be playing her album non-stop when it arrives. […]
midget gems
Really good and really cheap too. Although, I only ever eat the red, black and white ones. These are all waiting to be eaten by a boy.
stick
Betty brought me this stick today. She obviously wanted me to throw it for her and was quite bemused when I put it in my pocket instead. The boys had a similar reaction when I started taking photos of it.
Valentine
Tony and I will celebrate twenty six years together next week. Feels like forever and yet not long enough. So, I’ve made us a cushion. And a very simple PDF of the letters for you. I haven’t written any instructions but I have sewing tips for the applique.
