Now, I know that this is not the healthiest meal but if it’s quickly fed and happy boys you’re after Blackbirds are just the ticket.

I’ve been making them since my Guide camp days.

You will need:

  • white processed bread
  • butter
  • jam
  • eggs and a splash or two of milk (you can sweeten these, or add cinnamon but I never do)

Then, you make lots of jam sandwiches (and I mean lots), soak them in the beaten eggs and fry them.

Eat and repeat then eat and repeat.

    I think this is healthy…it’s basically what we have for breakfast, just cooked in a slightly different way. Will be trying it tomorrow for breakfast just to test the theory!

    I used to make these for my kids but with golden syrup not jam and dusted with cinnamon caster sugar. I am salivating at the thought!!
