Happy New Year!

I’m just calling in briefly to wish you all a very happy New Year!

Are you making lots of resolutions (which will be impossible to keep) like me, or have you learned your lesson?

Here are mine: obviously I am going to get fit.

I am going to knit a pair of socks and learn how to make toffee and caramel (all attempts to date have been either burnt or gritty)

and find myself a book club to join, oh and maybe take piano lessons…

In 2008 Henry tells me he is going to start wearing matching socks.

But I shall be really sad if he does:

oddand no, he is not in a squat, that is unfortunately our hall (must add decorate the entire house to the resolutions list too!)

We all had a lovely Christmas (hope you did too) and were all spoilt rotten.

Tony gave me a proper camera!

Which gives me another resolution- learn how to use it!

But, my absolute favourite present was from my boys.

Tony took them to an antique centre thinking they would choose me a little teacup or something.

But oh, no they insisted on buying this:

corgiYou’ve got to love it, haven’t you!

Well, if they’re good enough for the Queen…
Bless his long yellow sock. Now I’m off to plan some resolutions.

Were the socks you made burnt or gritty? Sorry, struck me as funny and I couldn’t resist. I won’t be including any cooking related goals on my list for the new year.

The corgi is adorable! And you don’t have to clean up after him.

One of my New Years resolutions is to do a project for learing machine embroidery and quilting like Janet Clare!
