sketch

Here are the latest pages in my sketchbook. I wandered round the gardens at West Dean over the weekend (after I’d finished teaching) but I wasn’t really dressed for the weather and got cold too quickly to do anymore.

And yes, sadly you did read that correctly.

I was really cold outside wearing a dress, a wool cardigan, tights and boots in the middle of our summer.

How terribly British…

P.S. Speaking of gardens my Dad has had a rare visitor to his.

Gorgeous sketches…I must get to West Dean, I have only been saying it for a year!

Ah Summer – that season of grey clouds and sudden downpours; of damp marquees and suddenly inappropriate clothing; of putting away of winter jumpers and then desperately digging them out; of crying ‘no we can’t surely need to put the heating on in June!’; of sudden sunburn as we are drawn to the fleeting sunshine like moths to the candle with much the same consequences. Hold fast, only one more bank holiday to go – bound to be some sunshine in Autumn. 🙂

Curvywitch has British Summer captured perfectly.
I love your sketch book. My sketching skills are very poor indeed. Yours are amazing!
