And yet more birds
Here is my next quilt.
It features small brown British birds this time.
This is my fourth quilt design.
And as I have a mere 22 weeks left before my show, my question is…
How many quilts would a proper quilt designer display?
Yet quality is more important than quantity, right?
I believe that.
Nevertheless, I can’t help thinking I should be aiming for a specific, magic number.
‘Oh, look! She’s designed 12 quilts. She must be a proper designer, let’s buy lots of her patterns.’
That’s not how it goes is it?
I guess I just need to keep working and see where I end up.
Thankfully, I have plenty of ideas.
Next on the list is a beachy, seasidey quilt a bit like this.
Onwards and upwards…

wow – the bird quilt will be beautiful – I love the muted colours. You’re doing really well with your preparation – I’m sure it will be a big success. Afterall it’s quality rather than quantity that counts and you’ve got spadefuls of quality!

I absolutely love it. Its so artistic and so truly beautiful. Janet make as many as you can. Set a $ goal. I want to make x amount of $. At least that is what I was told in a class at one point. But your quilts are so lovely I can’t imagine you not being able to sell everything you make.

Your bird quilts look gorgeous, I am sure the patterns will sell well. You amy like to consider making a few cushions with single birds on. From a display perspective it will look more interesting than just quilts, also it will show prospective customers that they dont have to make the whole thing…. one bird block in a drift wood look frame would be stunning.

will the quilts be shown in a gallery space? if so, consider them large paintings, and give them all alot of room to be seen individually…
