A blanket with horses on

horses

Anyone familiar with how many old blankets I have got and what I do with them would probably say that this latest design was inevitable. But I didn’t actually get the idea to make a horse blanket until I was preparing the boys’ tea yesterday.

So, the boys (to their great delight) had tea in front of the tv while I grabbed hold of the idea and ran with it. You have got to get the idea down immediately I find or it starts seeping away whilst feeding the dog and running baths until it finally vanishes altogether whilst reading ‘Hairy Maclary’ for the millionth time.

Then, because I had to, I stayed up until past midnight working on it.

Which made it pretty hard to be tolerant of the paper aeroplanes the boys chose to play with in our bedroom at the crack of dawn this morning…

Great idea Janet. Add Cowboys or Knights and you have a boys blanket. Add a ‘bookies’ stall and you have a ‘Day at the Races’ blanket. I have many more suggestions – if you want them!

The horses look amazing. I love the effect of seeing them with different prints. Did you draw the silhouettes, or trace an image?
