gin twist
entrance: to fill with wonder and delight
according to Toast in 1823 the world was entranced by gin twists. So much so that poems were written.
As I’m something of a gin lover I decided to give it a go and let me tell you it is lovely and lemony and warming and soothing. And it was certainly a delight to sit sipping it by the fire. Not sure I was entranced though. I clearly take fresh lemons completely for granted.
40ml gin
juice of half a lemon
1 heaped tablespoon brown sugar
120ml boiling water
a lemon twist (which I forgot- maybe that’s why I wasn’t entranced!)
:: I’d also recommend you listen to Toasts Christmas Quartet.

I’d love to try it instead of a hot toddy one night! Thank-you!

I must try this- I was going to buy a medicinal bottle of whisky today, but was put off by the price! I have gin in already though!
