Dream Lumps

Henry (nearly 4) has not been sleeping at all well recently.

The poor boy’s been having nightmares and sometimes just wakes up for no reason at all.

And then the other night he started talking about the dream lumps (the what?)waking him up.

He said “The dream lumps come when you are sleeping and hurt your tummy and even your leg. They are very not good”.

And then he pointed to his mattress and said that the dream lumps lived there…

so I tested it myself and yes, it’s true, the poor child has the world’s most uncomfortable mattress.

Mystery solved.

I took Henry to the local bed shop today where he tested several mattresses and completely independently chose the most expensive one in the shop!

Naturally I made him test them all again but he still came to the same conclusion- so I bought it for him.

Well, what else could I do?

We certainly don’t want the very not good dream lumps back.

Here’s hoping for a full nights’ sleep at last…

What an incredibly sweet story. Poor guy, what a way to describe that!

oh bless, dream lumps, how cute! (well, not for him obviously if they were keeping him awake, but you know what i mean), poor lad. kids are so funny when they know what’s bothering them and make up their own way of expressing it!

We went through nightmares last year and I too would have bought the most expensive mattress if it would have made the “dream lumps” go away. Sweet dreams, Henry!

That is an exquisite photo of Henry. I hope by now (it is morning time here) that he is well and truly sleeping without the dream lumps.

why thankyou Mary! I was rather proud of it myself- he is of course watching TV. Henry is rarely still. 10.30pm here and no sign of a dream lump yet!

Look at that gorgous little face. It would be worth large amounts of cash to ensure the dream lumps are well and truly banished.

Ah, Bless him! I am pleased you got the dream lumps (love the expression – describes them wonderfully) sorted out. Love the photo.
I have dream lumps, other people might call them elbows – your Mothers. I would suggest a change of mattress myself but your Mum would say a change of room would solve the problem!!
