Dandelion

Here it is, the finished dandelion.

I’m pretty pleased with it.

I think it would look good on a linen cushion.

I may have to make myself one in fact, for my new bedroom… or a quilt, now that could be lovely.

Or maybe embroidered onto a smock blouse? or a little girls’ dress for a Japanese craft magazine look.

You won’t believe it but, I have never actually seen a Japanese craft magazine in real life.

The shame of it. I must put that right soon.

The pattern and ‘iron on’ transfer for my dandelion will be in my shop shortly.

Sadly, the rest of my morning will be spent loading the washing machine as Joe had to go to school in Henry’s socks today.

Which did not go down particularly well with anyone concerned.

How can we be out of clean socks again?

Pretty, I always loved dandilions I remember my mom saying they were weeds when I insisted that they were flowers.

I love it! And these dandelions won’t need to be weeded out of the garden. That’s nice too.

    Love the dandelion.
I have sent one of mine into school in yesterday’s socks before now – shameful mother that I am!

Wow, you’re fast. The dandelion is very pretty.
… And socks always are a mystery. Either there are only brotherless socks, or there are too many of one kind, or there are no socks at all.

I can tell you when you have to send one to school in his sister’s sport trackpants, that you really need to get into the laundry . . . ! (even though they are identical in size and style – as I kept saying to him!)

The dandelion looks lovely and agree that they would really suit a linen background.

I love the connection between weeds and laundry. One takes over the garden as quickly as the other takes over the house. You have elevated the weed to art, can you do the same for laundry?

Lovely embroidery and really liked the needlepoint design on the bag. Came across your blog through a link of someone else’s blog – really enjoy these happy wanderings and coming across something inspiring. Best wishes Valerie
