Catching Up

Well, what can I say? What an amazing couple of weeks I have had since I was last here.

First, came our traditional English seaside holiday with the boys.

Long days on windswept beaches pretending we weren’t chilled to the bone and slowly turning blue.

But, we’re British so we carried on regardless!

One day, we decided to go for a lovely walk round a nature reserve, got lost and rather than walk back for 20 minutes decided to wade (well, paddle really) across a stream…

boy heaven (“Just like Bear Grylls, Mummy”) and yet another pile of muddy, soggy laundry for me!

And then, came the Festival of Quilts… which went amazingly well! Everytime I think about it I smile. I met lots of charming people, including Manda and Amy and some blog readers who actually de-lurked in person.

I sold patterns, received compliments and even got a few exciting design opportunities.

In short, it went exactly as I dreamt it would.

I must thank my Mum for all her support and hard work at the show and my Dad for helping Tony with the boys.

And if you came and supported me, thank you very much too.

Also, Tony has worked round the clock to get my website updated and I think it is looking great.

Please go and take a look and let me know what you think.

So basically, I’m back with a spring in my step and big plans for an exciting year ahead.

But first, some time with my boys and some ‘non work’ sewing; the red dress and the medallion quilt-a-long to name but two.

Sounds like a fun holiday despite the cruddy weather (and the mud!). I’m so glad you had a great time at the festival of quilts, I’d have loved to have been one of those popping in to say hello – maybe you’ll do it again and I’ll get another chance!

Well done at the NEC Janet.

I had a great time with Tony and the boys and will be putting my week in pictures on my blog soon. (A little, unashamed, plug there!)

Hi Janet. I’ve missed you. Its good to see you back at it. I had to laugh at your comment about being by the sea. Windy and cold with a smile. Very UK. Love the website, love the sewing hints. Great job. I’ll be telling friends to check you out.

These English holidays toughen up your children. Mine always remember these the most fondly – wind and rain. I peeked at the website and I love the little ‘stitcheries’ above the links. A nice touch. I hope it works well for you.
