Isabella’s Shoes

My friend Sarah had a little girl called Isabella on Thursday morning and we’re going to see her today! I’ve been wanting to make a pair of Heather Baileys’ ‘Bitty Booties’ for ages, so here they are…

Isabellas shoes

They are entirely handsewn and are made from felt. They are lined with a fine soft wool fabric. After making flowers and fiddling for hours with all my little bits I decided that less is more and just went with two little pink bows.

I’m sure you all know the wonderful Heather, and like me, can’t wait for her range of patterns to be released. Her free bootie pattern is beautifully written and illustrated and has very clear instructions. They really were a pleasure to make. Wouldn’t it be great to have an adult sized pattern? What would you have on yours?

Those are so beautiful. I have that pattern – downloaded it months ago – but never made it up. You’ve done a really great job.

I made a pair with spots on for my neighbour’s baby. But adult sized ones? Cute embroidered washing lines I think.

They’re adorable! They look (and this is meant as a most sincere compliment) like something which has been handed down through several generations of very clean babies! I have just looked up Heather Bailey’s blog.. never heard of her before but it all looks very gorgeous.
