Ships

I can show you my Moda fabric!

I thought you might enjoy seeing how each of my fabric designs came about- from my sketchbook to the finished fabric and so today I’m showing you the ships design.

I decided to design some fabric to co-ordinate with my second book ‘Hearty Good Wishes’ and spent quite a bit of time sketching and printing ideas whilst working on the quilts and projects for the book.

I put together some A3 pages showing various ideas for each motif (here you can see the Ships page) and then, I was very brave and bold and sent the designs to Moda and here we are!

It’s just wonderful to see my little illustrations and sketches on fabric. Moda fabric that will be sold all over the world (fingers crossed!).

It will be in your local quilt shop in February and Moda are distributing my book ‘Hearty Good Wishes’ too.

I’m a Moda designer! Happy, happy, happy!

I think I’ll show you the whales next…

The colours of the fabrics are really versatile. I can imagine them as cushions. What a lovely design.

It’s lovely to see where the design came from and the fabric looks great. You must get such a buzz from seeing your own designs printed onto fabric like that:D I think your fisherman is cool too! Have a great week.x
