I’m at it again…
copying Ali, that is.
This time I have followed her to haramaki heaven.
She has it on good authority that wearing such a garment (or cut off bottom of an old t shirt in our cases) may stop us experiencing any negative mood swings.
Well, it seemed worth a try.
One thing I do know for sure is that my haramaki has done more for my wardrobe than the shrunken vest top I made it out of ever did!

They have a name!? I’ve been wearing them through two pregnancies and breastfeeding and thinking I was unique. Alas mine are not handmade but from Primark (horror!)I think mine were originally boob-tubes but they fit high up over the bump and now I’m breastfeeding again they keep my tum all covered and cosy. They do remind me a bit of so called bump-bands but much roomier and comfy to wear.
Think I’ll go hunt down some old t-shirts. Always prefer to make things if I can. This could be my first foray into making clothes…and if it helps my mood so much the better.

That is a great idea. I will make one this weekend and combined with the “Cozy” from http://makingpeace-patrice.blogspot.com I will be able to go through the Los Angeles winters and survive. I am a wimp and get cold easily. Oh Well!!
Thanks

Ooh, how cool do you look? Now I’m sure I have a stripey top with shrunken sleeves somewhere…

I love this idea and have been seeing it around the ‘net! It’s on my list of things to try. You are looking very smart in that pic!

oooh this is fab. I loved it so much I went straight to my chest of drawers and cut up an old top straight away. I then went to my creative writing class, where I am normally freezing cold, and was as snug as a bug in a rug :o) However I now have a cold and sore throat today :o(
I can’t wait to cut up more t-shirts though and you gave me another idea … I’m going to sew some onto the ends of other t-shirts as I always find them too short in the body as it is. M x

Thanks for sharing your sewing space. I really like the green cabinet. So nice and tidy. I recognize the type of sewing machine you have. It is such a nice bright and light space.
