Sparrow
I took a notion last night to do some watercolour painting, which is something I used to do regularly before I had the boys. But, I don’t think I’ve really done any painting for six years now.
So, here it is – a little watercolour of a sparrow.
They used to be really common in gardens but are getting less so now, which is a shame because they are sweet little things. Although very brown!
I really enjoyed my evening listening to Radio 4 and painting – I was totally absorbed in what I was doing and found it very relaxing after a day with the boys. So much so that I stayed up painting to nearly one in the morning!
Of course, my relaxed state didn’t last as Henry very kindly decided to get up over an hour earlier than usual this morning! Why do they always do that?

That’s so awesome. I’m speechless. You captured the detail so beautifully, right down to the look in its eye.
