Design wall
I did write about my design wall at the beginning of the week.
But since then my blog has had a mini meltdown and my post has vanished without a trace.
So my apologies if you have seen this already, but here it is again:
I whitewashed some cork tiles and stuck them to the wall above my book case to form a giant pin board.
It is really inspiring to sit and sew whilst looking at it.
I drew this stag beetle at my boys’ request and they loved it so much I am wondering whether I should design a creepy crawly quilt.
What do you think? Too ugly?
Or just ugly enough for all those boys of ours?
Oh, and please don’t be fooled by how tidy and calm my studio looks.
Appearances can be deceptive!

I love the idea of a creepy crawly quilt, spiders, ants, daddy long-legs, millipedes – go for it!

Too creepy for me, would give me nightmares, but I could see the boys appreciating it!

Wow! Bugs – what a fantastic idea…stag-beetles and autumn leaves, spiders and spiders’ webs, ladybirds and caterpillars – not all bugs are creepy! Maybe garden bugs to go with your garden birds? Well, you’ve sent my imagination into overdrive, so thank you very much!!!

I like it. Boys don’t get there fair share of embroidery related gifts!

Oh how I love your studio and design wall to gaze at inspiringly whilst you stitch. I like the idea of a creepy crawly quilt but just think of all those insecty features you’ll have to get up close and personal with in order to get all the details right….

Yes to stag beetles –and bugs in general. Heck with the boys! I want one! (and I know two young girls that would fight for it!)
