Blouse

In the little spaces of time between my nursing duties I did manage to make myself a blouse out of a buttery coloured linen from a beautiful Japanese pattern book, which was very kindly lent to me by Ali.

Despite there only being 9 instructions in Japanese and 5 drawings for the entire blouse it went together very easily.

Here it is hanging in the ‘pink bedroom’.

And yes, we really do call it that. As if we have so many bedrooms it is hard to distinguish which one we are referring too if we don’t.

Delusions of grandeur perhaps?

Whilst writing this I am listening to Nigel Kennedy playing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The CD of which I found for 75p in the charity shop yesterday.

I had quite forgotten how beautiful it is.

This is lovely too.

I am always quite impressed by you clever folk who can interpret the patterns in the Japanese books. Your blouse is beautiful.

Pretty! I am afraid of Japanese armholes – guess my upper arms and shoulders are beefier than your average Japanese girl…
