Crow Overhead

We have not been having a good week.

A winning combination of Henry having a tummy bug and a wild mouse taking up residence in the house.

Did you know this about mice? You certainly will if you’ve ever had one in your house.

Oh, and before you all read that link and then start emailing me: Henry’s bug was pre- mouse and definitely picked up at school.

So, basically I have been cleaning. Well, cleaning and washing.

The only good thing about this week so far, is that my pattern ‘Crow Overhead’ is the free pattern in this month’s QNN.tv’s  newsletter (which is also free) so get yourself signed up please!

And if you are visiting from there: hello and welcome!

Well done, you work is appearing all over the place. I used to work in a school plagued by mice. The cleaner used to swear by putting fudge in the traps!

Two years ago, I had a mouse in the house. My old cat did nothing about it (she was 17 years at the time). He was with me so long, that I named him and was thinking of making clothes for him. I finally got a humane trap and a carpenter, who closed up the holes and now I am fine. Lots of luck!

do you want to borrow Paws the cat?… he caught(and ate we think) his first mouse a few days ago. We discovered droppings in the greenhouse on Sunday… some mice had taken up residence and were helping themselves to some bird seed… i can really sympathise with you cleaning as we have had them in the house in the past.
Hope Henry is feeling better… see you soon!

Use choclate in your trap (but keep small fingers
a long distance away), there aren’t many mice that can resist it !

we have two mice we actually keep as pets and then several that we don’t but have choosen to live amongst the walls etc…my exterminator told me (i can deal with mice but bought in the big guns when it came to the rats), anyhow he told me it’s a myth that cats keep mice and rats away. infact they attract them because mice and rats feed off what cats do in the back yard…interesting hey.
any how i do have a soft spot for wee mousies and also wee chickies at present 🙂

oooh and another bit of interesting ‘mice’ fact…an average house can hold up to 100 mice and 300 rats quite comfortably…now that makes just having one mouse almost an enjoyable experience 😉
