Blue Star Quilt

quiltback

This stunning quilt has been made by Sue Oakley in my Hearty Good Wishes fabric to raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust charity.

And whilst Sue has spent many, many hours at the sewing machine her brother-in-law Michael is doing his part by braving the elements and is sailing around Britain to raise funds for this worthwhile cause too!

You can read more about the amazing work this family are doing here.

I am pleased to say that all we need to do now is purchase a raffle ticket or two and hope to win the quilt!

Or you can donate here at their Virgin money giving page.

Thank you!

    Hello Janet,

I’ve just bought a Charm Square set of “Hearty Good Wishes” today at the Australia Quilt Convention (Melbourne). I bought it from my friend Sarah Griffiths, who has an on-line shop http://www.SewMaterialistic.com.au. I was instantly drawn to the “ocean themed” prints, and while not ordinarily a fan of Navy – I do love most blues, and of course, I love the Sea!

How exciting to find out via the Internet. that it’s only been recently released! I enjoyed reading about how the colours and shapes were inspired by the wild ocean in winter – I can see that so perfectly, in this fabric collection. I’m very much looking forward to making a special quilt from this gorgeous fabric.

    Congratulations!

How do I get the pattern for the star quilt? I bought the Hearty Good Wishes book…it has some wonderful ideas but not a quilt pattern for this fabric line ( which I purchased at A quilt show in WisconsinS).
