Little quilt

Isabella is two tomorrow.

As her mother is a dear friend of mine and also happens to appreciate the handmade I always try to make something special for her birthday.

Here is what I made for her birth and

the garland I made for her last year.

So, what can a quilter make for a little girl who is just discovering the joy of playing with dolls?

A little doll quilt, of course.

A very simple, just pink enough (hopefully) doll quilt.

The cushion in the photo is also for her.

But, the doll is mine. And has been for about as long as I can remember.

Before reading the post I was wondering which one of your boys played with dolls…
All your gifts to Isabella are lovely. The baby booties are adorable. What do you make for your boys ? Because I have a godson and I wonder what to make for him when he’s of an age not to care for cute garments any more.

It is a wonderful gift for a little girl. I can see little Isabella carefully covering her dolly up for a nap. So sweet.
I like to give objects that I make and I always question whether the people realize I spent the time thinking of them.
    Happy Birthday Isabella!

    oh soo lovely.

(I have a doll since way back then… but I could never show it to anybody. It’s so scary. Seriously. Like a horror movie scary. But I love it. Love is blind after all!!)

Doll quilts are very fun. It is like making a potholder with tiny pieces. Fun to do and finish. I’ve been keeping track of you with my Sew Hip subscription. You are so famous!
