Laundry haiku

Ali has just made one of my biggest chores much more pleasant.

For now, instead of just hanging the washing

on the line as quickly as possible

with any old peg

I create poetry instead.

And just so you know:

What you see is a piece of string tied to my lilac bush with stunt vintage washing.

I had to crouch in the flower bed with a creak in my neck to take the photos.

My real laundry is un- photogenic.

Sigh.

My blog life is so much prettier than my real one.

Oh, oh, oh! I have those too and yours are displayed so much more beautifully than I ever could. Sadly even my bloglife isn’t that pretty.

I love that comment about your blog life…I know exactly what you mean. My life, as I present it, seems all tied together. What a laugh!
The clothes pins are like magnetic letters on the refrigerator. what fun!

i think the reason our blog lives may appear better is because we tend to leave all the crappy day to day stuff out!!!

    What a nice idea.
Your Mum, Janet, has brought coloured pegs – and expects me to colour co-ordinate them when I hang out the washing! It will never happen of course – unless she is watching!

I am howling with laughter at your ‘stunt washing’.

    But goodness, it looks good.

Cool! Laundry haiku – that would really feed into my matching peg fetish. As for your non-photogenic laundry – I learnt a wonderful Finnish word last night – Arki – it means everyday – you can read about it here – http://bamarik.blogspot.com/2009/05/back-to-arki.html. So I’m all for arki laundry (well, you know, as much as I have to be) and the pretty non-arki type 🙂

Isn’t blog life always so much prettier ?! This is hilarious. But I’m sure I can get a pretty good shot of the chainsaw and make everyone think that living on a winery is romantic…

    Stunt washing, heh.

And I’m laughing at your dad’s comment.

One of my favourite chores is hanging out the washing – it gets you outside and you know your laundry will smell great when it’s dry. I’m sure yours will smell much nicer than mine though: your lilac versus my neighbouring cow shed – no contest!
