Day out

I had a day out in London on Sunday. A boy free day out, no less.

I met up with the lovely, smiley Julia who happened to be in town for a wine fair.

We arranged to meet at Liberty’s and spent ages looking at all the beautiful things way out of our price range and then chatted over lunch at a pavement cafe.

Of course, there was the traditional present giving too.

Julia was very generous as you can see: handmade soap, pin badges, a notebook and a little purse

all of which you can get here.

I felt very spoilt and happy!

Whilst I was with Julia, Tony took the boys to see the dinosaurs and then I took them home on the train whilst he went to see his favourite football team get beaten. As soon as we got home Joe was sick.

On my shift. Not during the 6 hours he’d spent with his father.

Typical.

I didn’t feel quite so spoilt or happy after that. Children have a gift for keeping your feet firmly on the ground, don’t they?

P.S Tif has given me a very flattering write up here.

You were missed but I can see that it was not without purpose. Enjoyed the interview!
My Irish grandmother would say “go out and blow the stick off of you”. I never took affront, my Nana was wonderful.

sounds like a nice day, apart from the sicky bit – dont you always find that when you’ve had a good time something always brings you down to earth with a bump!!! still makes you appreciate the good bits even more.

Yes, children do have a way of bringing you back down to earth with a rather large bump! Sounds like you had a lovely day to bump down from though – love the goodies that you were gifted – hope they’ll remind you of the good bit of the day!
