Still here, but not for long…

I seem to have lost a blog week somewhere.

Sorry about that.

I haven’t been anywhere exciting.

I’ve just been working on a new collection for my stand at the Festival of Quilts

And ducking rain showers and taking dull photos of half finished projects.

Oh, and daydreaming about my 40th birthday present from my parents:

4 days in New York with my Mum and sister! How great is that? We are all so excited!

So, girls, where do we have to go in New York?

How fan-flipping-tastic! You can have a look at all the suggestions I got last year here http://domesticali.typepad.com/domesticali/2008/07/start-spreading-the-news.html#comments

For me? Grayline Linen, Anthropologie, Kinokuniya and the view from the top of Rockerfeller Centre.

I’m sending you a google map I made of the places I wanted to visit – it really helped squeeze a lot of stuff into a short trip!

Oh you are going to have the BEST time!

Wow lucky you! I too went there for my 40th and it took my feet and legs about 3 weeks to recover (even though I wore sensible footware) so go for comfort on the feet! We had a great meal at the Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station and as mentioned you HAVE to do the Empire State Building-make sure you watch Sleepless before you go. It’s tricky to get a good balance of sightseeing and shopping but think you will manage it!
Have fun and spoil yourselves – you’ll remember it for ever.

We went up the Empire State Building at night, the twinkling lights made the views wonderful.
How about a trip to Tinsel Trading?

Wow, that is a wonderful birthday gift. Did I miss your birthday ? If so, I’m incredibly sorry and wish you a belated ‘happy birthday’ and only good things for this new year.
Enjoy your time in New York!
