Bedroom again

So, here’s another glimpse of our bedroom.

We have a cast iron bed, and a lovely feather duvet and (sadly always un-ironed) white bed linen.

After much agonising,

we also splurged on these beautiful mirrored bedside tables

and I’m so glad we did because look what they do with our weak British sunlight.

And of course, I needed a coaster for my tea cup.

So, I took a piece of thrifted lace crochet,

put it onto a bigger piece of blanket (you could use wadding or similar),

machine stitched round and then cut it out.

And there you have it.

A pretty, but still practical coaster.

And thanks for all the curtain v. blinds help. The blinds have it!

You have time enough when the boys are away at university to iron your duvet. The bedroom looks very comfortable and lovely. Sit back and don’t forget to enjoy it.

So pretty, though the thought of keeping mirrored furniture fingerprint-free in this house gives me the heebie jeebies. And life’s too short to iron bedlinen (don’t tell my mother I said that).

I’m a big fan of wallpaper and I think yours looks absolutely charming. What’s not to like…happy, sunny, radiate…enough to dispel any gloom on a gray autumn day.
