Embroidery
I was just browsing the internet the other day and happened to find these wonderful folk-art embroidered blankets, designed by Shirley McLauchlan.
And then I remembered making this little embroidered blanket.
It is chain stitched in tapestry wool and has applique flower pots in the corners.
I made it in 1995 and I don’t think it’s seen the light of day much since then. I eventually found it in a box in the garage! After a handwash and a very brief tumble dry it looks as good as new – although it still hasn’t found a home (so it could end up back in the garage?)
And then… I was reading ‘Posie Gets Cozy’ and was mesmerised by her embroidered pillowcases – you must see them if you haven’t already. So now, all I can think about is embroidery… what can I embroider, I need something now!

I love her blankets, I want one!!
Don’t put yours away in the garage – far too good. There are so many things you could do with it I’m sure – put your thinking cap on and let us know what you come up with.
Have a great weekend
