Down to Earth

Tea stained calico (muslin)

hand quilting and embroidery

and a free machine drawing of a bird.

Almost finished months ago, but actually completed this week, after only 40 minutes more work.

As ever, I was working whilst listening to

Radio 4 on the iplayer and came across

Dame Ellen MacArthur on

Desert Island discs

(link will work only for the next couple of days).

She’s one amazing, very determined lady.

Down to earth too though.

You are so inspiring. It pushes me to try new things and open the possibilities of my own projects.

That is so lovely. You are definetely a master of the craft. I tried it on my machine and I am sure there is something that I am missing. It was so, so hard.

I have just found your blog after i bought your fishing cottage pattern last week from my local patchwork and quilting shop. I am now inspired to have a go. I love your drawing of the bird , I couldn’t do that with a pencil never mind a sewing machine!

I’ve only just come across your blog quite by chance and will definitely have to take a look at some of the older posts and put you in as a ‘favourite’. Glad of the unexpected.

    Hello

I have been reading your blog for a while now and love it. I have just used your bird pattern to make a white cotton lavender bag with the bird machined on as decoration – it is a lovely image – thank you very much.
