The Beauties of Nature are Charming to me
Here is the whole quilt as promised (lighting slightly better today). I made each image seperately and then stitched them onto a tea dyed and hand quilted background. The title comes from a Shaker hymn I found in a book. It is embellished with shells and lace, a feather and a clock face.
It was a real labour of love and I really am proud of it. It was the first quilt I made that seemed completely unique, something only I have imagined and made.
Oh and I know I don’t need to tell you, but please respect my copyright. I’ve tried and tried but I cannot add the text and copyright logo to my photos in ‘Paintshop Pro’. Tony is selfishly at work and not here to do it for me! Mind you, if you’d asked me what ‘Paintshop Pro’ was as little as 4 months ago I wouldn’t have had a clue!
Henry has been very patiently playing with all my buttons while I’ve been doing this (and talking to me about fire enines) so I’d better give him some attention now before the school run!

I love the quilt. I am one of Tony’s mates at work but love to quilt, sew, knit, do machine embroidery. I design one of a kind quilts. No blog, no site. Blame it on work. Would love to connect.

I love your work, and your website. Lizzy’s going to show me how to add you to the sidebar. My quilting’s better than my computing skills.
Have a great day!

Wow! this really is charming. There are so many things i like about it; the tea dye, the beehive and snail. The birds in center is my favorite and i’m straining to see more of the dandelion in the bottom right. That’s making me smile. i could stare at this for many moments.

Hello Janet, I am hoping it is possible to purchase the pattern of ‘The Beauties of Nature’ quilt. Thank you. Heather

Heather, Thanks for asking but sorry the ‘Beauties of nature’ quilt is my own original artwork and I haven’t made an exact pattern for it. However, my ‘A Field Guide’ book has similar projects and templates in it.
