Crumbs
I love toast.
And I’ll often eat it standing right next to the toaster
which I’ve always considered a bad habit
until yesterday
when the crumbs in the toaster caught fire!
So I threw it in the back garden.
Which seemed like a very sensible thing to have done
until Tony came home and asked why I hadn’t just put it in the sink under a running tap.
?
It seems that keeping a clear head in a crisis is not my forte…

I think you did the right thing, Janet. It is probably okay to use still but wouldn’t be so if you had ‘dunked’ it in the sink. Remembering to unplug it first!!

Oh, I would have done the same thing as you!

*laughing* You did the right thing, Janet. Really. I wouldn’t have done any different. The only problem would then have been that I live on the 4th floor and might have killed someone with a burning toaster. But… what a way to go out, I guess. Hell and flames and toaster.

No, no, it was good. Good job you didn’t put it under the tap, since you might have fused the whole house / faced electrocution. Glad you’re safe, anyway! Off right now to empty my toaster of crumbs, given your salutory warning.

but if it was still plugged in you could have killed yourself! throwing it out the door was a great idea. I once had my Butane soldering torch catch fire and I chucked it towards the pool! probelm was that the dogs thought it was a kick arse game of fetch 🙂
