Moustache
Joe came home the other day and said he’d had a reading assessment at school.
He felt it had gone well except that he was asked to read ‘moustache’ which he’d never heard of and then couldn’t read anyway.
He’d guessed at ‘mouse- ache’.
And then the very next day I was queueing in the post office and saw a man with the most amazing moustache I’ve ever seen- it was fabulous!
Sadly, Joe wasn’t with me to see it and I was too embarrassed to ask for a photo. So, I did the next best thing and drew it for him. Mouse- aches are fun to draw: I may have to draw some more!

Mouse ache sounds like a most sensible attempt to me! Those words will pop into my head the next time I see extravagant facial hair, I’m sure!

I should imagine carrying around something like that on its face would indeed make a mouse ache!

I think ‘mouse-ache’ sounds like a creative way around a flummoxing word. If that’s a representation of the ‘tache you saw I wish I’d seen it too – spectacular.

My uncle (the artist) had a moustache just like that. It sure did tickle when I was a little girl. And also, as I was to learn, it took a lot of work to maintain. Impressive, though!

Oh, that kind of moustache is impressive. They have become increasingly rare, though. Very much to my dismay.

What a lovely story Janet, one to pull out at Joe’s 21st., no doubt!
Love your ‘mouse ache’ stitchery.
Enjoy the holidays.
