pause
I’ve been rather quiet lately haven’t I?
Teaching at West Dean was lovely- such a treat.
I stayed there the night before my workshop.
There was no television in my room and I hadn’t brought my laptop or ipod with me either.
And do you know- I loved the silence, the space and time to pause and completely rest.
I can’t remember the last time I just turned everything off and did nothing. I’m always doing something.
Doing nothing, in silence, did me good.
Haven’t managed it since, mind.

That sounds a lovely, welcome rest – I think we all need those retreats from time to time. I envy you!

Do enjoy the silence but store the memories of the uproar for the future. It really won’t be too long and then you will miss the running around the house, the door slams and and the calling out from he street. It is really a wonderful joy tto have boys your age living with you.

That is one thing I love about camping, no distractions, just nature and quiet.

Hey Janet, sounds wonderful a rare gift in a world full of computers, TV’s, ipods mobile phones…………..
Something we should all do occasionally, makes us realise we can survive without them!

It sounds wonderful, as did the course you led. I eyed it, I wanted to go. The little ones are just too small still. Maybe next year.

How was your course? did you have good students?
I loved the same things as you… the peace and the quiet and the time for myself…

Wasn’t that part of one of the challenges?! How can I ever catch up with that sort of calm?
Good for you, friend.
I’m glad the boys are better, I love the ocean photo and I’m happy you did some teaching and that it went well.
…Man, have I missed a lot of your life lately…
