School run bag

New bagI got loads done last night. I went swimming, updated my shop and made my new bag. Exhausted today though!

The bag is basically 2 rectangles sewn together. The front is ‘Forest’ by Amy Butler and the lining is ‘Ladybug’ by Etsuko Furayo.

The strap is just a length of hessian upholstery tape.

The bag is big enough for Joes’ bookbag and lunchbox etc. And the straps are exactly the right length, so the bag sits comfortably at my hip without banging my leg when I walk.

As we walk almost 4 miles everyday just doing the school runs comfort is important!

Getting the dimensions right is one of the huge benefits of making something yourself I think. If you’re not going to be fussy you may as well just buy one.

We have also been to London to see Anthony Gormleys’ ‘Event Horizon’. What an absolutely amazing sight. Thirty-one life size sculptures dotted around the London sky line.

When you said School Bag I thought it was for him to carry! The penny has dropped and I see it would indeed suit you much better!

great and useful bag for that LONG walk each day – you must be fit as a fiddle.
no wonder you look so slim in that fab dress – it is a thing of wonder – and yay for tif – the queen of slips!
