Henry’s scarf
Henry was a very willing (but unfortunately not a still) model for his new scarf. Hence the photo… it’s atmospheric, not out of focus, okay?
What can I say about a stripey scarf?
I like to knit scarves on slightly bigger needles than the yarn would normally need, as I feel they drape better. I also knitted the odd garter stitch row to stop the scarf curling in on itself. And then I lined it in a soft pale blue cotton.
Henry loves it.
So, feeling very pleased with myself I asked Joe what colours he would like in his scarf. He gave me one of his looks and said “Can I get a black one from a shop?”
Joe is quite clearly not going to grow up to be like this amazing knitter (Tif at Dottie Angel has just found his blog too.) I would dearly love to knit his Hemlock Ring Blanket.

Lucky boy! What gorgeous colours. I said to Mark – ‘Look at this lovely scarf – would you like me to knit you one?’ The reply ‘Granny is very good at knitting!’
Do you think that’s a polite rebuffal??!

wonderful scarf!!! And please don’t tell me you’ve got a boy who actually keeps the scarf around his neck instead of using it as a toy?
