Done
I think I may have said this before but I’m going to say it again anyway: I like to finish as many WIPs as possible in November and December so I can enter the coming year with a clean (ish) slate.
It also helps that the patchwork group I belong to have an exhibition every January! Nothing like a deadline to get you motivated.
So, to that end I spent the other evening adding a little more hand quilting to this applique quilt.
I’m happier with it now, but if I were to do it again I’d do it differently.
I often feel like that though, don’t you?
And just in case you were thinking I am Wonder Woman or something; I’m not making any gifts this year (terrible I know, but such a relief!) and whilst I’m confessing, I’m not making any decorations etc either.
I know, I know…
but this year I thought just don’t do it to yourself Janet. Go slow.
It won’t hurt not to have a handmade redwork embroidered linen runner on the table.
Obviously, I do feel a bit guilty about the commercialised shopping I’ve been doing. But, I must admit I am relaxed, which is quite an achievement for me actually.

Good for you, for getting your plate clean(ish), and for getting so much accomplished. I would say it’s good – you should relax, and not feel guilty about anything. Take care of yourself, and enjoy this time with your family.
Merry Christmas!
