Joe’s quilt
My eldest son Joe (14) after years of refusing to have a quilt on his bed suddenly asked me if I would make one for him.
Well, I didn’t need to be asked twice!
He chose the fabric himself from my Moda collections and asked for a simple zig-zag quilt.
After much thought and consultation with my exacting client we both agreed on a delectable mountains design.
And work began (fast, before he could change his mind!).
SO much cutting, stitching, cutting again and more stitching back together again we finally had a very simple, bold and striking quilt top made.
I’ll show you the finished quilt when my Elf has finished quilting it for me.

Well, Joe has some darned good taste 🙂 I really like his choices. It has been fun watching you cut and put these fabrics together. The zig zag looks wonderful. I can’t wait to see it quilted and bound. It’s going to be beautiful!

I absolutely love the zig zag quilt, and also the storm at sea quilt for the upcoming Ahoy fabric line! Would love the patterns. Are they Available?

Thank you! Yes, the pattern for the Storm at Sea ‘sailing the blue’ is available in our Etsy shop. I didn’t make a pattern for my son’s quilt- but it’s a traditional Delectable Mountain quilt, so you should find tutorials etc online.
