Sketchbook Cover
I don’t seem to be able to think without a pencil in my hand- and I definitely can’t remember anything unless I’ve written it down.
So I have sketchbooks and lists everywhere (even by my bed), and this is my favourite sketchbook.
I made myself a simple patchwork cover which ties at the front with a ribbon over a large button. It has wadding and is fully lined and is finished with homemade bias binding.
I do like to be surrounded by beautiful things.
I find writing and drawing much more satisfying in a lovely book with a proper fountain pen in blue-black ink.
Not that I’m fussy or anything.
This is the sketch I made of a Smooth Fox Terrier when I was designing the title page of my website.
I call him Hugo. Hugo the logo.

I love your notebook, and i want a real dog just like Hugo, in fact , I think you should have a puppy like him in celebration of your web site. Jesse would love a sister!
I’m looking forward to another of your fantastic cream teas in those georgous tea cups! Speak soon!

Beautiful! I’ve been wanting to make myself a book cover for ages, but you know how these things tend to get pushed to the bottom of the ‘to-do’ list…
