brown cardigan

This is the knitting project that taught me the importance of checking you have bought yarn with the same dye lot.

Because I grabbed 10 balls for a great price in a yarn sale (last year) without thinking and now I have a three toned cardigan!

Still, it fits well and was a pleasure to knit. It’s ‘Blaze’ by Rowan.

The outfit I’m wearing was inspired by this image

on my Pinterest board.

The skirt is from a charity shop and was originally bought for the fabric but when I realised it fitted like a glove I put it in my wardrobe where it has been languishing ever since.

I’m still not sure about the dark tights with the pale shoes look.

But it did make me look less frumpy librarian.

Which is essential when you’re over 40.

oh I do the frumpy librarian look very well – every now and then I tell myself that I really LOVE this look and it’s what I’m aiming for 🙂 The cardie looks great – hang the three shades – and I’m very partial to pale shoes – especially buckle ups – with dark stockings.

    The whole outfit is fabulous!

I learned the hard way too, with a zip cardigan that I knit for my daughter. Two different dye lots, and when I went back to the store to see if I could get more, I found out that they put it on sale with the intention of discontinuing that colour! There was only one ball left, and that one wasn’t in the proper dye lot, either!

Nobody as beautifully creative and as inspiring as you, could be a frumpy librarian!!

the cardigan looks much better on you than the rowan model.
i’m thinking more miss jean brodie than frumpy librarian.

I am jealous, that’s a lovely look! The colours work so well together. I think I’m going to have to hunt through my wardrobe for a bit of the 40’s vibe. And hunt through my fabric stash for some browns and blues!
