Flair

We had lots of fun swapping badges at Quilt Market! My artisan apron was getting heavier (and prettier) by the day.  I have a few left and they will be with me at the Festival of Quilts– are you coming?

Summer time

June 13th, 2015 | Other | No Comments

Summer is fickle in England. One day it’s here and the next it’s not. But it was here a week ago and so we all ate tea in the garden and our new chalk board tablecloth had it’s first outing. I found the chalk board fabric ages ago whilst teaching at ‘The Patchwork Dog and […]

Minnehaha Falls

June 4th, 2015 | Other | 2 Comments

Tony and I had a few days in Minneapolis before Quilt Market began and we used them well! One of our favourite days was spent visiting Minnehaha Falls and the mighty Mississippi river. I couldn’t resist chanting ‘Mrs M, Mrs I, Mrs SSI, Mrs SSI, PPI’ as we walked along the rocky path from the […]

Hello, it’s Betty here. Some of you may already know me but in case you don’t I’m Janet’s dog and I am very pleased to have finally been given the opportunity to tell you about all the work I do here behind the scenes. Preparing for Quilt Market is always a busy time for us […]

This stunning quilt has been made by Sue Oakley in my Hearty Good Wishes fabric to raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust charity. And whilst Sue has spent many, many hours at the sewing machine her brother-in-law Michael is doing his part by braving the elements and is sailing around Britain to raise funds for this […]

I do love a New Year and the opportunity it brings to make a fresh start. I don’t make resolutions but I do set myself a word to live by for the year ahead. And this year I plan to ‘optimize’- my energy, my surroundings, my business and all the myriad opportunities I am given. My […]

Remembrance day

November 11th, 2014 | Other | 1 Comment

Thousands upon thousands of blood red poppies at the Tower of London commemorate the centenary of the first world war. Each ceramic poppy has been hand made and ‘planted’ individually. We shall remember them.

Plum cake

October 17th, 2014 | Food, Other | 2 Comments

One of my ambitions in life is to always have homemade cake or biscuits in the cake tin for after school snacks and elevenses. Of course, I more often than not have nothing whatsoever in the cake tin (not even a shop bought something) but one can always dream. But, today we have plum cake! This […]
