brothers and porridge

Did you know that B &Q have free woodworking classes? The boys made bird boxes at the weekend with proper power tools. They were both pretty proud of themselves.

I’ve taken to eating my porridge with a sprinkling of cinnamon (and a lot of brown sugar). Very daring of me, don’t you think!

I have to have sugar on any hot cereal or I can’t get it down. I can’t imagine what I would have to add to make it daring, lol. I do think cinnamon and brown sugar were a tasty choice.

Lovely boxes Joseph and Henry. With your trees you should get them occupied this year.
    Porridge? Yuk!

I cook my oatmeal with milk, instead of water, and I throw a tablespoon of brown sugar in while it’s cooking! And in the bowl, I liberally sprinkle cinnamon on top and drown it in milk.

Nice job on the bird houses, and easy clean, too, by the looks of it!

Have you tried Agave Syrup? To my taste buds, just as yummy as brown sugar, but with the advantage of being a low glycemic sweetener so more healthy than sugar. And btw you need less of the agave syrup to get the same sweetness.
When my porridge is cooked, I stir in the agave syrup, and then raisins & almond slivers are my finish touch. The kids love it too, and we get a heart healthy start to the day.
