A while ago I was lucky enough to win a giveaway at Pretty Gingham.
Naturally, I’ve been watching the post eagerly for days and yesterday a little parcel from Helsinki came for me!
It’s a really beautifully made ‘Welcome’ banner and it couldn’t be more me if I’d chosen all the materials myself, could it?

There was more too, but I need help taking a photo of it and amazingly I’ve got the house to myself this weekend, for the first time in 6 years.
Tony, Joe, Henry, our friend Rob and his children are on their annual ‘lads’ camping trip this weekend. No Mummys’ allowed. Yippee!
It is strictly for ages 4 and over apparently, so this is the first year Henry and Mabel have been deemed old enough to go.
Henry was beside himself with excitement.
And I got to stay home by myself. I have sewn for 8 hours, read my book in the garden and watched a film in blissful uninterrupted peace and quiet.
All of which was delightful.
I’m still looking forward to seeing their grubby little faces tomorrow though… but, hopefully not until I’ve been to the car boot sale!
