Blackbirds land and stand
We’ve had a lovely day today. We took the boys to Godstone Farm and saw all the farm animals, ate ice creams in the sun and had a tractor ride. Perfect.
I’ve recently finished this cushion. I used some vintage linen and a piece of tweed for the blackbird. My son, Joe did his very best handwriting for me to embroider over. Blackbirds really do land and then stand… watch them and you’ll see. However, I didn’t coin the phrase; the brilliant, poetic author Niall Williams did.

Beautiful cushion – love the way you’ve immortalised your son’s writing – will make a wonderful heirloom.
