Stripey thing
I bought a few odd balls of this chunky Rowan yarn in the January sales. Just enough to knit myself a little stripey thing (pattern from here). Rightio. I’ll be back on Wednesday, my second blogiversary! And I may have a little something for you…
Gloves?
Wrist warmers? Arm cosies? What do you call them exactly? Anyway, my orange things are finished! The free pattern can be found here and they are a quick, easy-ish knit (decreasing every 6 rows, thumb gusset, K2 P2 rib and a 10 row cable repeat). I wish I had had enough yarn to make them slightly […]
A bold choice
No, don’t adjust your screens- I really did buy a skein of hand dyed orange wool at Ali Pali. I just loved it. And, I reasoned, it goes with green and brown (both safe, usual colours for me). One beautiful day it will be a pair of long wrist warmers, possibly with a cable running […]
Bainbridge scarf
My first long visit to Ravelry resulted in me downloading far too many free patterns, rushing to my meagre stash and realising that I have nothing, at all, to knit them with. Or to be more honest nothing I wanted to knit them with… my wardrobe is in a similar state I find. However, I did […]
and finally…
some craft! Having spent months and months with my sewing machine I decided it was time to treat myself to some knitting. I wanted to knit something quick and useful (as I definitely don’t need another WIP) and eventually came up with this. Now, I would never have considered knitting this on the strength of the […]
Freebie!
I decided late last night to design a little knitting freebie for any of you who may be interested! The Hugo pattern below can be easily printed out. And, (as I have only just learnt useful computer stuff like this) here is what you need to do: hold your mouse over the chart, click the right hand mouse […]
Happy Easter!
The Easter weekend has, thankfully, been much, much better than last week. We have enjoyed lots of family time, too much food, some snow and a bitterly cold visit to the beach. And now we are safely home with a small mountain of chocolate. Brilliant!
Today
Today, I finished my socks. Kitchener stitch and I don’t get along. But as you can see my sock knitting has improved enormously. Thankyou, Knitty.com. And as of today, my work is available to buy at Blueberry Park and White Doll Arts. Go and take a look- my teacosies and […]
Sock
So, my first sock is finished. But there’s definitely something strange about it. Mind you, given the number of mistakes I made I’m not surprised. I had been worried about turning the heel, but that went fine (in comparison). It was the grafting that proved impossible. This, here is my third attempt. It looks dreadful. But, as it is […]
My Dad
My Dad has been fascinated in my blog since I started it. He checks to see if I have posted every morning (and moans at me on the phone when I haven’t) and has read every single comment you leave me. What can I say he’s great- a truly supportive Dad. And now he has gone and […]
