Bedside

Once again, Ali has given me something to write about. Thank you.

Apparently, there is a ‘what’s on your bedside table’ tag going round (it started here) so I’ve joined in.

Now, just so you know: our bedroom is on our ‘things which desperately need to be done which we can’t afford to do yet’ list.

We have bare floorboards (no, not in a good way) a gaping hole open to the chimney (the sky) where there used to be a fireplace and no plaster on the walls. When I lie in bed on a windy night my hair moves.

I kid you not.

And, it’s only been like this for six. long. years.

But, amazingly I think I’ve managed to take a rather flattering and atmospheric photo of it all.

So, getting to the point:

On my bedside table I have a hideous travel alarm clock (which I never set because I have a Henry), a pencil, a light and three novels.

Two of which are fairly worthy and the other (the one I am actually reading) which is complete mindless pap.

So, there you have it. Are you joining in?

Ooh – moody and magnificent! And the good news is that sleeping in a cool room is meant to be better for you.

Nothing glam on my bedside table – a glass of water, a lamp – oh and boob cream and burping medicine! That’s for the one month old!!

Ooh looks a lot like my bedside when I was a girl ! Compleet with the waving hair ! And a tiny layer of snow on the windowsill when the wind blew that way in winter…(Now it looks a lot less tidy)

Hi Janet. Loved this idea so I did a post myself http://michellemadethis.blogspot.com/2009/01/whats-on-your-bedside-table.html I’m afraid I went on a bit though!

What are you going to do with your fire place? I loved the idea of leaving mine open in my bedroom but as you can see from my post I’m petrified of bats coming down the chimney!! Not only that but the rain comes down too!!

    Take care M x
